Doug Washington has become known for belonging to places where people know they will be treated well. He brings back the time honored tradition of treating guests as humans instead of money with legs. His philosophy is simple: treat EVERYONE walking in the door like they are family who has been invited to a dinner party in our home (well….a dinner party in your home where they have to pay before they go home).
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Doug moved to San Francisco in 1986 after securing a manager’s job by the age of 20 at Joyce Goldstein’s Square One Restaurant. His background in the restaurant business is lengthy and diverse. He has managed dining rooms with an array of luminary chefs; Traci Des Jardins, Wolfgang Puck, Doug Keane and the Rosenthal Brothers.
Salt House is the latest endeavor with the Rosenthal brothers bringing great food & wine, good company and gracious service to San Francisco.
